Activity One: Living and Non-Living

We are going to explore the amazing world of living and non-living things through a read-aloud story, 'What's alive?' by Kathleen Weidner Zoehfield. As you listen, think about the characteristics that makes something alive and how they are different to non-living things. I also want you to think about the similarities between living and non-living things.
After the story, you will be asked to explore your home environment and find things that are both living and non-living to share on our whole class Padlet. Your ideas must be your own so try and be creative.

Now that you have seen some examples of living and non-living things and identified their characteristics, I want you to explore your home and garden for 3 living and 3 non-living things that you can find. Add them to the Padlet below.
